Feast Your Ears for YCE

5th December 2016

Make sure you start off 2017 on the right foot! We’ve teamed up with the Friends of York Cemetery and other YCE supporters to put on a fundraising gig on January 20th at the York Cemetery Chapel.

The event will be A Feast for the Ears – music and words for a winter’s night. In the presence of the Lord Mayor and Civic Party you can experience the verbal dexterity of speakers and wordsmiths Clive Dawson, Anthony Day and Gillian Caldicott. Music will b provided by guitarist & singer-songwriter David Breslin and virtuoso classical cellist Frances Jones, accompanied by pianist David Hammond. Your very own Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Toastmaster Helen Tait.

Doors open at 7pm, with the entertainment starting at 7:30pm sharp. All proceeds will go to support the Friends of York Cemetery and York Community Energy.

Tickets are £10 (which includes a drink). Book your ticket now –

  • at the cemetery office, open Mon-Fri 9am-4pm
  • Online via Eventbrite (booking fee applies)
  • Or reserve by phone on 01904 610578

You can help us promote the event by downloading and displaying the event poster.

We’ll also be kicking the year off with an open meeting on Monday January 9th 2017, 7:30pm at the Angel on the Green cafe/bar on Bishopthorpe Road (the one that used to be Cycle Heaven).  This is where we lay our plans for the next year – and we want all our members’ input.

So we hope to see you soon!
